MCM CPAs & Advisors
LOUISVILLE, KY (June 6, 2017) — In its eighth year, the 2017 Accounting MOVE report indicates that women comprise 28% of the partners and principals at the 49 firms that participated in the study, the profession’s only annual benchmark of the status of women in the leadership pipeline. That is a marked increase from 2012’s 17%.
That means the bar is rising for candidates for the annual MOVE Project Best Public Accounting Firms for Women list, recently released by the Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance (AFWA) and American Women’s Society of CPAs (AWSCPA).
In its fourth straight year of inclusion in the Project, MCM CPAs & Advisors was once again named one of the Best CPA Firms for Women. This demonstrates consistent, measurable progress in advancing women to leadership; proven and evolving programs that retain and advance women; and clear and compelling integration of the business case for advancing women.
MCM CPAs and Advisors achieves what most firms consider to be impossible: it gains women at higher levels, with women comprising 67% of the firm’s managers, 50% of senior managers, and 60% of directors. Nearly 40% of partner and principal roles are held by women, and up and comers are encouraged to lead via firm programs like the WIN (Women’s Inspirational Network) Committee, business development training and sponsor relationships. Additionally, MCM is one of the only Top 100 firms in the United States in the region with a female managing partner.
“Leadership equity is a priority at MCM, and one I very personally take to heart,” said Diane Medley, Managing Partner of MCM CPAs & Advisors. “At MCM, we focus on developing career pathways that allow our women to thrive at every level of advancement.”
Top Trends From the 2017 Accounting MOVE Project
“Innovative firms are finding that they win new clients when they clear the way for senior women to open new offices and new lines of business designed around workplace flexibility and collaborative growth strategies,” said Joanne Cleaver, president of Wilson-Taylor Associates, Inc., the content strategy firm that designed and manages the annual MOVE Project.
